I perform an essential role both as a hands-on greenkeeper and also in a supervisory capacity leading small and large teams of personnel. My position awards me the authority to demand the very highest standards of work both from my myself and those reporting to me.
This contributes towards a good team spirit and an end product which is enjoyed by golfers the world over. Important administrative responsibilities include ensuring work programmes are adhered to, chemical records are kept up to date and health and safety requirements are met.
I also deputise for the Head Greenkeeper and Deputy in their absence.
Assistant Greenkeeper - April 2006 - June 2007 at current golf course. This was my initial role and the experience enabled me to demonstrate my abilities to the course management team which facilitated my promotion to the position of Senior Greenkeeper.
I made the decision in 2003 to pursue my vocation in Greenkeeping having spent twelve years in various sales roles and took up an assistants role.
My key area of responsibility as an individual was to cut tees and approaches with a Jacobsen Triple 1900D. As a team member, I was also responsible for general course preparation, maintaining greens, semi-rough and fairways as well as deputising for the Head Greenkeeper in his absence.
